Versatile vape
In addition to its excellent finish, the Vmate E2 pod has a magnetic cap that attaches to the top of the cartridge. This is a great feature that ensures protection and hygiene when transporting. The only drawback is that once the cap is removed, it has to be held in hand or kept in a pocket while vaping.
Underneath the Vmate E2, a USB-C connector allows for fast charging of the built-in 1500 mAh battery. This is a comfortable battery life for a pod that measures barely over 9 cm, including the cap. Like most Voopoo pods, it is not possible to vape while charging. This is the manufacturer’s choice, aimed at preventing any danger to the user’s hands or face in case of battery issues during charging.
On one side of the Vmate E2, a small mirror-effect screen displays device status through an LED strip. The battery level is also visible. It’s simple and, like the rest of the pod’s details, well-integrated. The Vmate E2 focuses on discretion.
The pod is fully automatic, with no adjustment or activation buttons. Simply insert the cartridge filled with your favorite e-liquid and inhale.
Under the cartridge, a slider allows for airflow adjustment. The Vmate E2 supports both a very tight, indirect draw and a much more open one. The more air directed toward the coil, the more direct the draw will be. The adjustment is precise in both configurations, though it is more effective with the cartridge intended for restricted direct inhalation.
Two cartridges are provided for two different vaping styles. Their 3 ml capacity is appropriate for the pod’s format. The coil inside the cartridge is sealed, so the entire reservoir must be replaced once the flavors start to degrade.
One cartridge has a 0.7-ohm resistance for indirect draw, and the other has a 0.4-ohm resistance for higher vapor production. Refilling is straightforward, by lifting the silicone flap, with no difficulty.
The flavors are very enjoyable, without any airflow disruption during inhalation. The coils do their job perfectly, and the flavor is well-defined.
