Sympathy for the Devil – Occult Alliance
Suicide Mods and Deathwish Modz have long established themselves as legends in the vaping community with their power-vaping designs steeped in bold “skull & dark” aesthetics. It’s a surprise, then, to see the Rift AIO emerge from the collaboration between these two titans of mechanical mods.
True to their reputation for strikingly original and assertive setups, Suicide Mods enters the iconic “Boro AIO” market—a format highly regarded among the most discerning users for over a decade. The Rift comes equipped with the cutting-edge American Evolv DNA 60W color chipset, powered by a single 18650 battery, and is compatible with the universally popular Boro-style tanks (the most common Billet Box format).

Paint It Black – A Killer Look
The mere mention of Deathwish Modz evokes promises of occult-inspired designs that resonate with fans who appreciate diabolical, dark, and tortured aesthetics. Suicide Mods, meanwhile, brings minimalist power with an affinity for skull motifs at every turn.
The Rift is the perfect fusion of these two visions, balancing minimalist elegance with striking originality and meticulous ergonomics. While the design is less morbid and gothic than typical Suicide or Deathwish creations, the evocative color range is sure to please fans: Agent Orange, Blade Grey, Blood Red, Swamp Green, and the matte black Murdered Out version we’re reviewing here.
The angular, openwork design boasts sharp beveled edges, making the mod both lightweight (110g) and comfortable to hold. Its precisely milled stainless steel and anodized aluminum construction exudes premium quality.
Every component fits seamlessly—no mechanical play, no imperfections. The two magnetically attached removable panels offer easy access to the Boro-style tank, securely held in place by a 10mm-tall, 5mm-diameter steel/PMMA drip tip that narrows toward the base. This setup is ideal for indirect/restricted draws in the standard Billet Box format.
The positive contact beneath the Boro tank is height-adjustable, ensuring compatibility with virtually all custom bridges and coil adapters.
Once inserted, the tank is visible from three sides, highlighting the beauty of custom tanks while allowing excellent airflow and minimizing condensation.
The discreetly positioned fire button sits flush with the chassis, falling naturally under the thumb.
The single 18650 battery is installed at the rear, with the positive pole facing downward. It’s held securely by four protruding claws in a well-ventilated compartment that accommodates customizable battery wraps (a matte black wrap is included).
The threaded battery cap, accessible from the top, is fitted with a magnetic tab for ease of use. Tightening the battery is simple, requiring only light pressure to preserve the contacts. The magnetic tab is useful for loosening the cap if necessary.
The Rift AIO does not include a bridge or coil adapter; only the high-quality Boro tank is provided in the kit. While this isn’t a significant drawback for experienced users, it’s worth noting, especially since Deathwish Modz, in collaboration with Monarchy, produces the high-end Summer Scepter RBA bridge, which could have complemented the Rift perfectly.
She’s a Rainbow – Cutting-Edge Electronics
No high-end AIO mod is complete without the iconic American electronics that have become synonymous with the Billet Box format. The Rift AIO is powered by Evolv’s latest DNA 60C (color version) chipset, renowned for its reliability and precision.
The energy management is exemplary, extending battery life—a crucial feature for a single-18650 device. The large color screen displays all essential information clearly and is positioned on the underside, while the control buttons are recessed on the side to prevent accidental adjustments.
The DNA 60 chipset, celebrated for its simplicity and intuitive operation, offers essential modes: Variable Wattage, Variable Voltage, and Temperature Control. The “Replay” function stands out, allowing users to save and replicate their perfect puff. This feature also prevents overheating in case of insufficient liquid, even in variable wattage mode.
The USB-C port on the front, protected by an included cap, allows for quick emergency charging or PC connectivity for advanced customization through Evolv’s EScribe software.
In testing, after several days of regular use, the Rift AIO consistently maintained its resistance readings—an uncommon achievement for an AIO mod and a testament to the reliability of its contacts and electronics.
