Review: Coolfire P60 – Innokin

The Innokin Coolfire P60 pod is the latest pod system from the Chinese manufacturer. With a substantial 3200 mAh battery, it allows both direct lung (DL) and mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping thanks to its PZP Max coils. This device delivers excellent flavor but still has some room for improvement in certain areas.

An tireless pod

With its 3200 mAh built-in battery, the Coolfire P60 is unafraid of long vape sessions. It offers a comfortable grip and requires no technical skills for immediate use. With its two included coils, you can vape with a very tight MTL draw or a much more open DL airflow for bigger cloud production.

A pod for two vaping styles

On the underside of the Innokin P60 pod, a USB-C port provides fast charging for the integrated 3200 mAh battery. Battery life is excellent, allowing for hours of vaping without worrying about recharging.

On one side of the pod, a button lets you lock the firing button. This is practical for carrying the device in a bag or pocket, preventing accidental firing. You can vape when the button is active, but only if the “autodraw” option is enabled (vapor is produced when inhaling). The airflow adjustment slider on the cartridge is visible; we’ll come back to this.

On the opposite side from the lock button, there is a screen, a firing button, and two adjustment buttons. The whole set is well integrated into the P60 body. Surrounding the screen, a faux-leather cover wraps a large part of the pod’s body. It feels nice to the touch and offers a slight texture. The overall finish is excellent.

The screen displays essential information such as selected power, coil resistance, puff count, etc. There’s no complex menu here—just set the wattage according to your coil’s value. This is especially easy since the pod automatically suggests the appropriate power for each coil. You can adjust the value, always staying within the safe range for each coil.

Capable of delivering up to 60 W with the 0.4-ohm coil, the P60 suits both fans of powerful direct lung hits and those who prefer a much tighter draw.

While the settings are straightforward, we found the screen brightness insufficient. In bright lighting conditions, it is very difficult to read the information. It’s a shame—this detail somewhat spoils an otherwise very good impression.

Two cartridges are included in the box. This is a great feature, letting you try both vaping styles without needing to empty your tank first. As is standard with pods, you lift the silicone tab to fill your cartridge. The capacity is 4 ml.

A minor improvement noted during our tests: the visibility of the remaining e-liquid. Once the cartridge is inserted in the pod body, it’s hard to check the liquid level.

The tanks are designed for long-term use since you only change the coil. The coil fits underneath the tank. It can only be inserted one way, thanks to the rounded and straight edges of the coils.

Vapor is produced either by pressing the firing button and/or simply by inhaling. In MTL, we noticed a different sensation between autodraw and button-activated vaping. In our tests, autodraw required a very strong inhale, no longer qualifying as true mouth-to-lung.

Two coils come with the P60 pod: a PZP Max 0.8-ohm coil for use between 12 and 14 W, and a PZP Max 0.4-ohm coil for vaping between 40 and 60 W. On the vape side, there’s nothing to complain about. The flavor quality is excellent. Each e-liquid’s aromatic profile is well reproduced. By adjusting the airflow, you can get a very tight draw—ideal for dessert flavors and warm vapor. In direct lung mode, vapor production is generous and just as nuanced.

Note: the pod is also compatible with 0.6-ohm coils for a more nuanced experience.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-coolfire-p60-innokinThe Coolfire P60 is a good pod system. The flavor is excellent. The two coils let you vape at different power levels and thus broaden the experience. The 3200 mAh battery life is a real plus, allowing for long vaping sessions. Some flaws remain, such as the dim screen or the somewhat imprecise automatic draw activation.
