Review: Drag H40 Pro – Voopoo

The Drag H40 Pro is a large pod, almost a box/clearomiser-style kit. With its integrated 2450 mAh battery, it can deliver up to 40 W. Equally comfortable with indirect and direct inhaling, it is a well-finished pod that is pleasant to use.

Between pod and kit

The Drag H40 Pro is a large pod that visually resembles a small kit made up of a box mod and a clearomiser. Here, a battery is paired with a cartridge fitted with a removable coil. Easy to use, it delivers very good flavours in both direct and indirect inhaling.

A versatile pod

Under the Drag H40 Pro, a USB-C port allows for fast charging of the integrated 2450 mAh battery. Battery life is convincing and comes close to that of an external 18650 battery. During charging, the battery percentage is displayed on the screen, along with the remaining time before reaching 100%. The port is discreetly placed under the device so as not to affect the pod’s design.

On the front, there is a fire button, a screen and two “+” and “-” buttons to navigate through the menus and adjust the pod’s power. The integration is successful: the buttons have no play and protrude enough to be felt by touch, without being too prominent.

The screen is in colour. It displays essential information, such as the coil resistance, selected power, puff counter, and so on.

The menu is simple. It allows the user to choose the displayed theme or reset the puff counter, nothing more. Of course, power is controlled via the “+” and “-” buttons. The pod recognises the coil’s resistance value and suggests a maximum power setting to preserve the cartridge. Vapour is produced only by pressing the fire button. Our only regret is the small size of the text, which requires excellent eyesight to read the information.

The clearomiser-style cartridge has a comfortable 5 ml capacity. Filling is done from the bottom by lifting the soft silicone plug. The airflow adjustment is located at the top. It consists of three holes of increasing diameter. It is therefore possible to vape from indirect inhaling to a much airier direct inhale by adjusting the number of open holes. The cartridge is held on the battery by powerful magnets. It stays perfectly in place.

Two coils are supplied in the box. The 0.6 ohm PnP X is designed for use between 18 and 23 W, while the 0.8 ohm PnP X MTL allows vaping between 12 and 16 W. The Drag H40 Pro is compatible with many coils from the PnP X range, covering most of the needs of pod users.

Flavours are excellent, whether in indirect inhaling or direct inhaling for those who enjoy larger vapour clouds. Tested with both fruity and dessert-flavoured e-liquids, the coils did their job with great accuracy in flavour reproduction.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-drag-h40-pro-voopooThe Drag H40 Pro is a very good pod. Easy to use, it delivers quality vapour. The choice of coils is substantial and covers most needs, while avoiding the large amount of waste linked to the use of plastic. The only drawback is the readability of the screen and its very small characters.
