Simple and effective
On the underside of the pod there’s a USB-C connector for fast charging. The 900 mAh battery is comfortable and consistent with the size of the device. The chipset allows for a power range from 5 to 25 W. The battery body is made of aluminium and is sturdy. The way it feels and looks inspires confidence.
The model name is neatly drilled into the front of the pod, near the bottom. These tiny holes light up when you inhale and when it’s charging, thanks to a series of LEDs housed under the pod’s casing.
The airflow control is on the side of the Ursa Pro. The control is precise and works well, but the draw is still indirect even when it’s fully open. This type of tight draw is perfect for stopping smoking, when you want the same feeling as smoking a tobacco cigarette. Sliding the control changes how much air comes in to cool the coil, which changes how it feels to vape with.
A screen and a fire button complete the features on the front of the pod. The ergonomics are great, and when you hold the pod the fire button sits naturally under your thumb. The chipset lets you decide whether to use this button to vape or not. Lost Vape offers automatic firing, simply by inhaling. We observed a slight lag when we tested the automatic option.
Pressing the button 5 times quickly lets you turn the pod on and off, but it’s not the only way. Pressing the button 4 times quickly means you lock the pod onto automatic firing, which makes things easier on an everyday basis. Pressing 3 times quickly lets you change the power level.
The display shows the which power setting you’ve entered, the battery level, coil value and the puff count. The brightness level is comfortable, even in daylight.
An intelligent chipset
Two cartridges are included with the pod. One is sealed but you can change the coil in the other one. The first contains a 0.6 ohm coil for use from 14 to 25 W. The electronics detect the coil value and automatically adjust the power to 16 W for optimal use.
You can change the power level at any time. When the coil wears out in the sealed cartridge, you have to throw it away.
The second cartridge is empty, allowing you to replace the coil when it wears out. This is very straightforward. You just insert the new coil into the dedicated slot. The cartridge is compatible with the manufacturer’s UB Mini coils.
The coil that comes with the Ursa Pro is an 0.8 ohm one. There are seals on both sides to ensure a tight fit inside the cartridge.
We did not notice any leaks during our tests. The range of use is shown on the coil and is from 12 to 17 W for the 0.8 ohm.
However, when we inserted the cartridge into the pod, the chipset set itself to 9 W, which did not match the values shown. You can change this power setting by pressing quickly 3 times on the fire button.
However, the chipset comes into its own by stopping the power level from exceeding 17W, and preventing premature coil wear. Lost Vape offers a 1 ohm resistor as an option.
You get great flavours, whichever cartridge you use.
You fill both cartridges in the same way. Just lift the silicone tab to insert the tip of the e-liquid bottle.
The Ursa Pro is a pod that’s enjoyable to use and offers a lot. The only thing we disliked was that the automatic mode wasn’t more effective, which showed up in the time lag when vaping. This is a pity, as this mode is particularly good for beginners who don’t want to bother with changing settings.
