Review: Xros 6 Mini – Vaporesso

The Xros series by Vaporesso is well established in the world of pods. With summer here, it may be worth focusing on a mini version of the Xros 6 for travelling and vaping light. The Xros 6 Mini is compact and very close to its larger version.

A mini version

The Xros 6 Mini is more compact than the standard Xros 6 model. But its battery is not far behind that of its bigger brother. With 1600 mAh, compared with 1800 mAh for the Xros 6, it has nothing to be ashamed of next to the “larger” model. Very simple to use, it delivers excellent flavours. An ideal pod for holidays, combining compactness and efficiency.

Simplicity and efficiency

The Xros 6 Mini has a sober design. Here, there is no screen and no multicoloured LEDs, only the manufacturer’s name on one side and a small logo on the other. It is a device that accompanies users discreetly and is disarmingly simple to use. Vapour is produced by inhalation only.

On one side of the Xros 6 Mini pod, a USB-C port allows fast charging of the integrated 1600 mAh battery. Battery life is rather comfortable considering the size of the device, allowing for long vaping sessions. It is possible to vape while the device is charging. It should be noted that the pod is supplied without a charging cable, which is a regrettable point. A small LED strip, discreetly integrated under the pod’s casing, indicates the remaining battery level.

On the opposite side, a small sliding button adjusts the airflow that cools the coil sealed inside the cartridge. The more air can circulate through the opening, the airier the draw becomes, for a restricted direct vape. The more the openings are obstructed, the tighter the draw becomes, similar to that of a tobacco cigarette, or indirect inhaling. The vapour never becomes hot. Adjustment is simple and does not move by itself when carried in a bag or pocket, ensuring consistent reproduction of the user’s ideal vape.

One cartridge is supplied with the Xros 6 Mini pod. The Xros cartridge is 0.6 ohm. Its capacity is 3 ml, which corresponds to what is generally found on the market for devices of this size. The coil is sealed inside the cartridge.

Flavours are very well defined. Excellent results are obtained with fruit-flavoured e-liquids thanks to cool to warm vapour. With menthol-flavoured liquids, the result is just as precise. In short, this is a discreet pod that we recommend for its ease of use and contained price.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-xros-6-mini-vaporessoThe Xros 6 Mini is a very good pod. It is small and unobtrusive. The only setting is the airflow, nothing more and nothing less. Performance is very good, especially with fruit-flavoured e-liquids. It is an easy-going pod, ideal for getting started with vaping or for spending the holidays with a quality device. We regret the absence of a charging cable.
