The VPrime 2 is OXVA’s new pod. With a larger capacity and a bigger battery than the first model, this device is designed for restricted direct-to-lung to airier vaping. It is a pleasant and easy-to-use pod.

A cloud-producing pod

On one side of the VPrime 2, a sliding switch locks the device, or more precisely the fire button used to produce vapor. It is still possible to vape using automatic draw activation simply by inhaling. When the pod is locked, users can also still access the settings to change the theme, power and other parameters. We would have preferred a complete device lock, although it is unlikely that several accidental button presses would occur within such a short period.

The pod includes the usual standard protections, as well as a few additional ones. For example, when vapor is produced using the fire button, the pod detects whether the user is inhaling. If the draw is not strong enough, the device automatically activates its safety protection. There is therefore very little risk of the device producing vapor in a pocket if the locking function has accidentally been left disabled.

On the opposite side, a slider adjusts the amount of air reaching and cooling the coil, directly affecting the draw sensation. The more airflow is allowed through, the airier the draw becomes. Conversely, restricting the airflow produces a tighter draw. However, the VPrime 2 is designed exclusively for direct-to-lung vaping, with a draw that can be more or less restricted depending on the selected power and cartridge.

On the bottom of the device, a USB-C port provides fast charging for the built-in 3400 mAh battery. This offers very comfortable battery life for a pod that can compete with kits consisting of a box mod and clearomizer. This large battery also explains the pod’s bulkier dimensions, with the device weighing close to 150 g.

The pod’s screen is bright and easy to read. It displays the essential information, including the selected power, remaining battery level, vaping mode and more.

The VPrime 2 can deliver up to 60 W.

The settings are easy to adjust, and everything is clearly explained in the user manual and on the pod’s packaging. Four successive presses allow users to switch between a mode that uses only part of the coil, or single mesh, and one that uses the entire coil, or dual mesh, somewhat like the *Eco* and *Boost* modes found on other brands. The other functions are standard and straightforward to use.

Two cartridges are supplied with the VPrime 2. The 0.4-ohm VPrime Dual Mesh cartridge operates between 28 and 60 W, while the 0.6-ohm VPrime Dual Mesh cartridge is designed for use between 20 and 50 W.

Capacity is 6 ml, which is well suited to direct-to-lung vaping.

In terms of vaping performance, the VPrime 2 delivers excellent flavor. By choosing whether to use one or both meshes, users can select a more or less dynamic vaping style. This is a real advantage, as there is no need to change cartridges to obtain two different vaping sensations.

With the 6 ml cartridge, refills are not required too frequently. The 3400 mAh battery also allows for long vaping sessions without having to worry about recharging.

Simple to use, the VPrime 2 is an enjoyable pod for users who prefer restricted direct-to-lung to cloudier vaping.

Self-taught and curious by nature, I developed my journalistic skills in the field by joining the Vaping Post in 2017. As a former smoker who converted to vaping, I immediately felt the need to understand in detail all aspects of this smoking risk reduction method that has enabled me to successfully quit smoking where previous methods had failed.
review-vprime-2-oxvaThe VPrime 2 is a good pod that is pleasant to use. Its XXL battery capacity is a major advantage when vaping at higher power levels. The 6 ml capacity is well suited to direct-to-lung vaping. Flavor performance is excellent with both supplied cartridges, which allow users to vary the vaping experience by using either one or both meshes.
