Techno vape
On one side of the Pixo Ultra, a USB-C port is dedicated to recharging the integrated 1500 mAh battery, a capacity that is consistent with the size of the device. Next to it, a small button allows users to select the different menus. Vapour is not produced via this button, but simply by inhaling.
On the opposite side, a slider adjusts the airflow that cools the coil inside the cartridge and therefore changes the sensation felt when inhaling. The more the openings are reduced, the tighter the draw becomes. Conversely, the more air enters, the airier the sensation becomes, for a restricted direct inhale. On our sample, the slider is very firm. There is no risk of it moving by itself when carried in a bag or pocket.
On the front, the screen is colourful with strong contrasts. Brightness is excellent. As on a mobile phone, the screen is touch-sensitive. A slight vibration can be felt during adjustments and while navigating through the different menus. This option can be disabled, which will help preserve battery life.
The menus are extensive. Users can adjust the vaping power, choose between Watts and Smart modes, select screen animations, enable Bluetooth, and so on.
The pod can synchronise its clock with a mobile phone via the ASPR app. As a bonus, the Pixo Ultra also includes a calculator. On the other side of the screen, a flat surface displays a logo with a lightning bolt. This is the area used for wireless charging. The device can deliver up to 30 W.
Two cartridges are supplied in the box. The first is a 0.6 ohm Pixo pod for vaping from 14 to 19 W. With the airflow almost closed, this cartridge makes it possible to vape with an indirect inhale, but also with a restricted direct inhale using different settings. The second cartridge is the 0.4 ohm Pixo pod, designed for use from 23 to 30 W and therefore offering a more dynamic, more open draw.
Capacity is 3 ml. The results are excellent. Flavours are ideal, with flawless aroma reproduction. With fruit-flavoured e-liquids, the Pixo Ultra ranks among the best in terms of reliable flavour rendering.
The Pixo Ultra is also compatible with single-coil Pixo cartridges from 0.4 to 1.2 ohm for fans of tighter vaping.
